Texas High School Basketball - Rio Grande City can't hold off Nixon

The Nixon Mustangs basketball team scored 35 points and restricted the host Rio Grande City Rattlers to 33 in the Mustangs league victory on Friday.
The Mustangs now sport a 18-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Martin for a 5A Region IV District 30 contest on Tuesday, December 19. Nixon will battle a Tigers team coming off a 36-27 league loss to Palmview (La Joya, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 9-14.
The Rattlers (10-6) will now prepare for their contest against Palmview (La Joya, TX). The Lobos come into the 5A Region IV District 30 contest with a 18-5 record. In their last contest, Palmview edged Martin (Laredo, TX), 36-27, in a league contest.
