Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls (Booneville, KY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY), 49-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Owsley County upgrades its record to 2-3 on the season. The Owls / Lady Owls host Perry County Central (Hazard, KY) to play the Commodores in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Commodores go into the bout with a record of 4-2.

Next up, the Pirates play the Leslie County Eagles (Hyden, KY) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 16. Powell County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 4-2 record after their 64-54 non-league win over Paintsville (Paintsville, KY).
