Poteet Pirates (Mesquite, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting West Mesquite Wranglers (Mesquite, TX), 70-15 in a league bout.

With the win, Poteet upgrades its record to 9-10 on the season. The Pirates travel to Adams (Dallas, TX) to clash with the Cougars in a 5A Region II District 12 bout on Thursday, December 21. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 2-7. Adams won 46-39 in their recent league bout against Spruce (Dallas, TX)

Next up, the Wranglers clash with the Seagoville Dragons (Dallas, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 game, on Thursday, December 21. West Mesquite will attempt to move on its 3-14 season record. The Dragons enter the game with a 5-6 record after their 35-23 league win over North Mesquite (Mesquite, TX).
