Round Top-Carmine Cubs (Carmine, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Richards Panthers (Richards, TX), 41-35 in a league battle.

The Cubs now possess a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Zulch for a 1A Region IV District 29 battle on Tuesday, January 2.

The Panthers (5-1) will now prepare for their battle against Buckholts (Buckholts, TX). The Badgers come into the 1A Region IV District 29 battle with a 1-2 record. In their last battle, Buckholts was nudged by Fayetteville (Fayetteville, TX), 55-9, in a league battle.
