Stanton Mustangs (Stanton, NE) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Wakefield Trojans (Wakefield, NE), 65-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Stanton upgrades its record to 3-2 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Pender (Pender, NE) to clash with the Pendragons in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 16. The Pendragons go into the bout with a record of 7-0. Pender won 43-33 in their recent non-league bout against North Bend Central (North Bend, NE)

Next up, the Trojans clash with the Westwood Rebels (Sloan, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 18. Wakefield will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 10-0 record after their 90-20 non-league win over Ar-We-Va (Westside, IA).
