Western Christian Pioneers (Salem, OR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Vernonia Loggers (Vernonia, OR), 53-27 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Western Christian upgrades its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Knappa (Astoria, OR) to play the Loggers in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 16. The Loggers come into the bout with a record of 4-1. Knappa won 41-38 in their recent non-league bout against Southwest Christian (Beaverton, OR)

Next up, the Loggers play the Riverdale Mavericks (Portland, OR) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 21. Vernonia will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record.
