East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Maiden Blue Devils (Maiden, NC), 24-21 in a non-league bout.

With the win, East Burke upgrades its record to 7-0 on the season. The Cavaliers host Bandys (Catawba, NC) to clash with the Trojans in a bout on Friday, January 5. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 6-1. Bandys won 42-21 in their recent league bout against West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC)

Next up, the Blue Devils clash with the West Lincoln Rebels (Lincolnton, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Maiden will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 42-21 league loss to Bandys (Catawba, NC).
