With the victory, Kinston upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Vikings host West Carteret (Morehead City, NC) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 2-3. West Carteret won 39-21 in their recent non-league test against Pamlico County (Bayboro, NC)

The Tigers now own a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Goldsboro for a non-league test on Friday, December 22. James Kenan will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 50-24 non-league win over Southern Wayne (Dudley, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 4-0.
