Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Steward Spartans (Richmond, VA) and the visiting Benedictine Cadets (Richmond, VA), saw Steward's basketball squad hold off Benedictine by a count of 48-46.

With the victory, Steward upgrades its record to 2-2 on the campaign. The Spartans host Christchurch School (Christchurch, VA) to play the Seahorses in a challenge on Monday, December 18. The Seahorses come into the challenge with a record of 0-2.

Next up, the Cadets play the Cristo Rey Royals (Richmond, VA) in a challenge, on Wednesday, January 3. Benedictine will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Royals come into the challenge with a 2-8 record after their 54-13 non-league loss to Catholic (Virginia Beach, VA).
