New York High School Basketball - Iona Prep can't hold off Christ the King

Christ the King Royals (Middle Village, NY) boosters left the game satisfied Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Iona Prep Gaels (New Rochelle, NY), 54-50 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Christ the King upgrades its record to 2-1 on the year. The Royals host Archbishop Molloy (Queens, NY) to face the Stanners in a Catholic AA - Brooklyn/Queens match on Thursday, December 19. The Stanners enter the match with a record of 0-1.

The Gaels now sport a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cardinal Hayes for a Catholic AA - New York match on Wednesday, December 18. Iona Prep will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 64-56 non-league win over Archbishop Molloy (Queens, NY). The Cardinals record now stands at 4-2.
