Bassett Bengals (Bassett, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Patrick County Cougars (Stuart, VA), 75-58 in a league bout.

With the victory, Bassett upgrades its record to 2-4 on the campaign. The Bengals travel to Floyd County (Floyd, VA) to play the Buffaloes in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Buffaloes come into the bout with a record of 3-1. Floyd County lost 69-66 in their recent non-league bout against Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA)

Next up, the Cougars play the North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 20. Patrick County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 8-1 record after their 81-46 league win over Alleghany (Sparta, NC).
