The Shelby Golden Lions basketball team scored 69 points and restricted the host Cherryville Ironmen to 46 in the Golden Lions league victory on Friday.
The Golden Lions now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Crest for a non-league contest on Monday, December 19. Shelby will battle a Chargers team coming off a 75-55 league win over Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC). The Chargers record now stands at 4-0.
The Ironmen (4-4) will now prepare for their contest against Burns (Lawndale, NC). The Bulldogs come into the 1A/2A Conference 40 contest with a 2-4 record. In their last contest, Burns triumphed over Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC), 72-67, in a league contest.
