Cold Springs Eagles (Bremen, AL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Locust Fork Hornets (Locust Fork, AL), 49-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Cold Springs upgrades its record to 1-4 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Winston County (Double Springs, AL) to play the Yellowjackets in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 27. The Yellowjackets come into the bout with a record of 5-7. Winston County won 57-45 in their recent non-league bout against Lynn (Lynn, AL)

Next up, the Hornets play the Tarrant Wildcats (Birmingham, AL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 19. Locust Fork will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 4-8 record after their 56-54 non-league loss to Oak Grove (Bessemer, AL).
