The Shelby Coyotes (Shelby, MT) basketball nipped the visiting Conrad Cowboys (Conrad, MT), 42-37 in Friday's league test.
The Coyotes (2-0) will now prepare for their test against Rocky Boy (Box Elder, MT). The Northern Stars go into the B District 1 test with a 2-0 record. In their last test, Rocky Boy got by Hays-Lodge Pole (Hays, MT), 72-38, in a non-league test.
The Cowboys now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Fort Benton for a non-league test on Friday, January 6.
