Marmaduke Greyhounds (Marmaduke, AR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Cross County Thunderbirds (Cherry Valley, AR), 64-59 in a league bout.

With the victory, Marmaduke upgrades its record to 10-6 on the campaign. The Greyhounds host Bay (Bay, AR) to play the Yellowjackets in a 2A Region 3 bout on Wednesday, January 4. The Yellowjackets come into the bout with a record of 10-6. Bay won 70-46 in their recent league bout against Earle (Earle, AR)

Next up, the Thunderbirds play the Harrisburg Hornets (Harrisburg, AR) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 7. Cross County will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record.
