The Union County Panthers (Blairsville, GA) basketball knocked off the visiting Fannin County Rebels (Blue Ridge, GA), 62-42 in Friday's non-league test.

The Panthers (5-4) will now prepare for their test against Murphy (Murphy, NC). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 2-4 record. In their last test, Murphy went down by Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC), 48-33, in a league test.

The Rebels now own a 1-8 record. They play next when they travel to Gordon Central for a AA Region 7 test on Saturday, December 17. Fannin County will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 66-63 league win over Haralson County (Tallapoosa, GA). The Warriors record now stands at 7-3.
