South Spartans (Bakersfield, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Garces Memorial Rams (Bakersfield, CA), 59-49 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, South upgrades its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Independence (Bakersfield, CA) to play the Falcons in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 17. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 5-5. Independence won 77-50 in their recent non-league bout against Shafter (Shafter, CA)

Next up, the Rams play the Golden Valley Bulldogs (Bakersfield, CA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 28. Garces Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 5-11 record after their 42-40 non-league loss to Strathmore (Strathmore, CA).
