The Pymatuning Valley Lakers basketball team scored 79 points and held the visiting Mathews Mustangs to 68 in the Lakers league triumph on Friday.

The Lakers now sport a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cardinal for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 29.

The Mustangs (5-2) will now prepare for their contest against Conneaut (Conneaut, OH). The Spartans enter the non-league contest with a 3-3 record. In their last contest, Conneaut was defeated by Crestwood (Mantua, OH), 69-47, in a non-league contest.
