Nimitz Cougars (Houston, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Westfield Mustangs (Houston, TX), 45-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Nimitz upgrades its record to 11-6 on the season. The Cougars travel to Stratford (Houston, TX) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 29. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 10-6. Stratford won 87-31 in their recent league game against Northbrook (Houston, TX)

With the defeat, Westfield moves to 6-9 on the year. The Mustangs host Eisenhower (Houston, TX) to face the Eagles in a 6A Region II District 14 game on Tuesday, January 3. The Eagles enter the game with a record of 5-10.
