Wakeland Wolverines (Frisco, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Spruce Timberwolves (Dallas, TX), 67-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wakeland upgrades its record to 12-3 on the season. The Wolverines host Lone Star (Frisco, TX) to clash with the Rangers in a 5A Region II District 9 bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Rangers go into the bout with a record of 6-8. Lone Star lost 54-42 in their recent non-league bout against North Forney (Forney, TX)

Next up, the Timberwolves clash with the Conrad Chargers (Dallas, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 bout, on Tuesday, December 20. Spruce will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Chargers go into the bout with a 2-10 record after their 81-32 non-league win over Gateway Charter Academy (Dallas, TX).
