The Anchor Bay Tars (Fair Haven, MI) basketball knocked off the visiting Utica Chieftains (Utica, MI), 49-40 in Friday's non-league test.

The Tars (5-1) will now prepare for their test against Port Huron Northern (Port Huron, MI). The Huskies go into the non-league test with a 2-4 record. In their last test, Port Huron Northern went down by Utica Ford (Sterling Heights, MI), 60-32, in a non-league test.

The Chieftains now own a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to Romeo for a Macomb Area - White test on Tuesday, December 20. Utica will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 38-31 non-league win over Lakeview (St. Clair Shores, MI). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-2.
