Appleton East Patriots (Appleton, WI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Fond du Lac Cardinals (Fond du Lac, WI), 64-63 in a league bout.

With the victory, Appleton East upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Appleton North (Appleton, WI) to play the Lightning in a Fox Valley bout on Friday, December 23. The Lightning come into the bout with a record of 4-3. Appleton North won 61-33 in their recent league bout against Appleton West (Appleton, WI)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Oshkosh North Spartans (Oshkosh, WI) in a Fox Valley bout, on Tuesday, December 20. Fond du Lac will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Spartans come into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 42-39 league loss to Kimberly (Kimberly, WI).
