South River Seahawks (Edgewater, MD) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Broadneck Bruins (Annapolis, MD), 45-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, South River upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Seahawks travel to St. Mary's (Annapolis, MD) to play the Saints in a non-league bout on Friday, December 23. The Saints come into the bout with a record of 10-0.

In their next game, the Bruins meet the North County Knights (Glen Burnie, MD) in a non-league match, on Monday, December 19. Broadneck will attempt to move on its 0-3 season record. The Knights enter the match with a 0-2 record after their 58-5 league loss to Old Mill (Millersville, MD).
