Burlingame Bearcats (Burlingame, KS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Waverly Bulldogs (Waverly, KS), 54-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, Burlingame upgrades its record to 6-0 on the campaign. The Bearcats host Olpe (Olpe, KS) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 4-3. Olpe won 56-45 in their recent non-league bout against St. Paul (St. Paul, KS)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Hartford Jaguars (Hartford, KS) in a Lyon County bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Waverly will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Jaguars come into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 54-41 non-league loss to Southern Coffey County (LeRoy, KS).
