Christoval Cougars (Christoval, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Eldorado Eagles (Eldorado, TX), 43-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Christoval upgrades its record to 8-8 on the season. The Cougars host Ozona (Ozona, TX) to play the Lions in a 2A Region I District 7 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 13-4.

Next up, the Eagles play the Rochelle Hornets (Rochelle, TX) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 28. Eldorado will attempt to upgrade on its 15-4 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 11-4 record after their 55-13 non-league win over Baird (Baird, TX).
