Maine South Hawks (Park Ridge, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Glenbrook North Spartans (Northbrook, IL), 61-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Maine South upgrades its record to 8-3 on the season. The Hawks host Wheaton-Warrenville South (Wheaton, IL) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 17. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 2-8. Wheaton-Warrenville South lost 62-45 in their recent league bout against Wheaton North (Wheaton, IL)

Next up, the Spartans play the Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs (Riverside, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 19. Glenbrook North will attempt to upgrade on its 8-3 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 62-27 non-league loss to Thornton Fractional South (Lansing, IL).
