Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC), 47-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cherryville upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Ironmen travel to Burns (Lawndale, NC) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 3-0. Burns won 60-48 in their recent non-league bout against Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC)

Next up, the Golden Lions clash with the Kings Mountain Mountaineers (Kings Mountain, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 21. Shelby will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record.
