North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting T.C. Roberson Rams (Asheville, NC), 49-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, North Buncombe upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Black Hawks host McDowell (Marion, NC) to play the Titans in a bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Titans come into the bout with a record of 9-0. McDowell won 66-65 in their recent non-league bout against Avery County (Newland, NC)

Next up, the Rams play the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 21. T.C. Roberson will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Pioneers come into the bout with a 7-3 record after their 45-44 non-league win over Davie (Mocksville, NC).
