Escambia Academy Cougars (Atmore, AL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Evangel Christian Academy Lions (Montgomery, AL), 63-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Escambia Academy upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Cougars travel to Crenshaw Christian Academy (Luverne, AL) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 4. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 1-7.

Next up, the Lions play the Hooper Academy Colts (Hope Hull, AL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 18. Evangel Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record. The Colts go into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 79-46 non-league win over Cornerstone Christian (Columbiana, AL).
