In Monday's league contest, the host Houghton Gremlins basketball team scored a big 74-49 triumph over the Calumet Copper Kings.

The Gremlins (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Ontonagon (Ontonagon, MI). The Gladiators go into the non-league contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Ontonagon smashed Watersmeet (Watersmeet, MI), 66-55, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Copper Kings battle the Hancock Bulldogs (Hancock, MI) in a Western Peninsula contest, on Thursday, December 19. Calumet will attempt to better on its 2-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 0-5 record after their 38-26 non-league loss to Chassell (Chassell, MI).
