The East Newton Patriots basketball team scored 55 points and limited the host Pierce City Eagles to 51 in the Patriots non-league triumph on Monday.

The Patriots now have a 5-0 record. They play next when they travel to McDonald County for a Big 8 game on Monday, January 6. East Newton will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 57-43 non-league loss to Carthage (Carthage, MO). The Mustangs record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Pierce City falls to 3-3 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Lockwood (Lockwood, MO) to confront the Tigers in a Southwest game on Tuesday, January 7. The Tigers go into the game with a record of 5-2. Lockwood won 60-36 in their recent non-league game against Greenfield (Greenfield, MO)
