North Carolina High School Basketball - Providence Grove nudges Southern Guilford

The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Providence Grove Patriots (Franklinville, NC) and the host Southern Guilford Storm (Greensboro, NC), observed Providence Grove's basketball team edge Southern Guilford by a score of 83-80.

The Patriots (3-4) will now prepare for their battle against Southwestern Randolph (Asheboro, NC). The Cougars enter the non-league battle with a 3-4 record. In their last battle, Southwestern Randolph tipped Trinity (Trinity, NC), 60-35, in a non-league battle.

The Storm now own a 1-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Western Guilford for a non-league battle on Wednesday, December 17. Southern Guilford will meet a Hornets squad coming off a 52-46 non-league loss to T.W. Andrews (High Point, NC). The Hornets record now stands at 2-5.
