Pleasant Valley Bears (Brodheadsville, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Pocono Mountain East Cardinals (Swiftwater, PA), 54-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Pleasant Valley upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Bears travel to Freedom (Bethlehem, PA) to clash with the Patriots in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 21. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 0-5. Freedom lost 78-62 in their recent league bout against William Allen (Allentown, PA)

Next up, the Cardinals clash with the Delaware Valley Warriors (Milford, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 18. Pocono Mountain East will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 68-53 non-league loss to Northwest Area (Shickshinny, PA).
