North Branford Thunderbirds (North Branford, CT) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils (Durham, CT), 61-47 in a league bout.

With the win, North Branford upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Thunderbirds host Cromwell (Cromwell, CT) to play the Panthers in a Shoreline bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Cromwell won 50-40 in their recent non-league bout against Sports & Medical Sciences Academy (Hartford, CT)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Portland Highlanders (Portland, CT) in a Shoreline bout, on Tuesday, December 20. Coginchaug Regional will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Highlanders go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 62-57 non-league loss to Branford (Branford, CT).
