The Stonington Bears basketball team scored 83 points and restricted the host Plainfield Panthers to 48 in the Bears non-league victory on Saturday.

The Bears now sport a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Woodstock Academy for a Eastern Connecticut II contest on Tuesday, December 20. Stonington will battle a Centaurs team coming off a 59-55 non-league loss to Windham (Willimantic, CT). The Centaurs record now stands at 0-2.

The Panthers (0-2) will now prepare for their contest against Griswold (Griswold, CT). The Wolverines come into the Eastern Connecticut I contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Griswold triumphed over Bacon Academy (Colchester, CT), 71-57, in a non-league contest.
