Illinois High School Basketball - Athens defeats Lutheran

The Athens Warriors (Athens, IL) basketball were winner over the visiting Lutheran Crusaders (Springfield, IL), 69-54 in Tuesday's non-league bout.

The Warriors now possess a 5-0 record. They play next when they host Mt. Pulaski for a Tomahawk bout on Friday, December 20. Athens will play a Hilltoppers team coming off a 52-39 non-league loss to LeRoy (LeRoy, IL). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Lutheran falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Crusaders host PORTA (Petersburg, IL) to play the Bluejays in a non-league bout on Friday, December 20. The Bluejays go into the bout with a record of 0-1. PORTA lost 55-47 in their recent non-league bout against Liberty (Liberty, IL)
