Immaculata Spartans (Somerville, NJ) fans went home pleased Tuesday as they observed their basketball team edge the host Bridgewater-Raritan Panthers (Bridgewater, NJ), 65-60 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Montgomery (Skillman, NJ). The Cougars come into the non-league challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Montgomery edged The Pingry School (Martinsville, NJ), 51-47, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Ridge Red Devil (Basking Ridge, NJ) in a Skyland - Raritan challenge, on Thursday, December 19. Bridgewater-Raritan will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Red Devil come into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 53-37 league win over Hunterdon Central (Flemington, NJ).
