Illinois High School Basketball - Clifton Central holds off St. Thomas More

The Clifton Central Comets basketball team scored 60 points and limited the visiting St. Thomas More Sabers to 55 in the Comets non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Comets now have a 7-4 record. They play next when they host Illinois Lutheran for a River Valley game on Thursday, December 19. Clifton Central will confront a Chargers team coming off a 62-35 non-league loss to Northland Lutheran (Mosinee, WI). The Chargers record now stands at 0-6.

With the loss, St. Thomas More falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Sabers travel to Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL) to confront the Falcons in a non-league game on Saturday, December 21. The Falcons go into the game with a record of 5-2. Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley won 58-44 in their recent non-league game against Paxton-Buckley-Loda (Paxton, IL)
