The Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA) basketball were winner over the visiting Connellsville Falcons (Connellsville, PA), 70-50 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Spartans now possess a 4-2 record. They play next when they host Central Catholic for a WPIAL 6A 2 bout on Friday, December 20. Hempfield Area will play a Vikings team coming off a 55-46 league win over Mt. Lebanon (Pittsburgh, PA). The Vikings record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Connellsville falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Imani Christian Academy (Pittsburgh, PA) to play the Saints in a WPIAL 6A 2 bout on Wednesday, December 18. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 4-0. Imani Christian Academy won 73-28 in their recent league bout against Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA)
