Mississippi High School Basketball - Newton holds off Kemper County

In Tuesday's non-league contest, the visiting Newton Tigers basketball team scored a close 44-40 triumph over the Kemper County Wildcats.
The Tigers (8-2) will now prepare for their contest against Southeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS). The Tigers go into the non-league contest with a 6-6 record. In their last contest, Southeast Lauderdale was tipped by West Lauderdale (Collinsville, MS), 64-49, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Wildcats confront the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans (Meridian, MS) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, December 19. Kemper County will attempt to better on its 7-8 season record. The Trojans go into the contest with a 7-6 record after their 65-47 non-league loss to South Jones (Ellisville, MS).
