North Carolina High School Basketball - Mallard Creek nudges West Charlotte

The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC) and the host West Charlotte Lions (Charlotte, NC), observed Mallard Creek's basketball team edge West Charlotte by a score of 51-44.

The Mavericks (4-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Hopewell (Huntersville, NC). The Titans come into the 3A/4A Queen City challenge with a 7-0 record. In their last challenge, Hopewell edged Harding University (Charlotte, NC), 82-72, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Lions encounter the West Mecklenburg Hawks (Charlotte, NC) in a 3A/4A Queen City challenge, on Friday, December 20. West Charlotte will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 0-8 record after their 102-29 league loss to Chambers (Charlotte, NC).
