In Tuesday's non-league contest, the host Martins Ferry Purple Riders basketball team scored a big 81-35 win over the Shadyside Tigers.
The Purple Riders (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against Bellaire (Bellaire, OH). The Big Reds come into the Ohio Valley AAA contest with a 3-3 record. In their last contest, Bellaire was trounced by Cambridge (Cambridge, OH), 66-46, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Tigers battle the Shenandoah Zeps (Sarahsville, OH) in a Ohio Valley AA contest, on Friday, December 20. Shadyside will attempt to better on its 1-5 season record. The Zeps come into the contest with a 2-3 record after their 72-32 non-league loss to Monroe Central (Woodsfield, OH).
