The West Essex Knights basketball team scored 84 points and limited the host University Phoenix to 50 in the Knights non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Knights now have a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Science Park for a non-league game on Thursday, December 19. West Essex will confront a Chargers team coming off a 42-41 non-league loss to Belleville (Belleville, NJ). The Chargers record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, University falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Phoenix host Weequahic (Newark, NJ) to confront the Indians in a non-league game on Saturday, December 21. The Indians go into the game with a record of 0-1. Weequahic lost 82-46 in their recent non-league game against Seton Hall Prep (West Orange, NJ)
