The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Nueces Canyon Panthers (Barksdale, TX) and the visiting D'Hanis Cowboys (D'Hanis, TX), observed Nueces Canyon's basketball team knock off D'Hanis by a score of 40-28.

The Panthers (13-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Utopia (Utopia, TX). The Buffaloes come into the 1A Region IV District 31 challenge with a 7-8 record. In their last challenge, Utopia dropped by Leakey (Leakey, TX), 47-12, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cowboys encounter the Knippa Crushers (Knippa, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 31 challenge, on Friday, December 20. D'Hanis will attempt to improve on its 5-7 season record. The Crushers come into the challenge with a 0-7 record after their 34-23 league loss to Medina (Medina, TX).
