North Carolina High School Basketball - Draughn triumphant over Owen

December 17, 2024: Valdese, NC 28690

The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) and the visiting Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC), observed Draughn's basketball team overwhelm Owen by a score of 71-19.

The Wildcats (4-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Avery County (Newland, NC). The Vikings come into the 1A/2A Western Highlands challenge with a 7-1 record. In their last challenge, Avery County trounced Rosman (Rosman, NC), 57-11, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Warhorses encounter the Tuscola Mountaineers (Waynesville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 23. Owen will attempt to improve on its 0-5 season record. The Mountaineers come into the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 74-41 non-league win over Brevard (Brevard, NC).
