The Mount Vernon Tigers basketball team scored 56 points and limited the visiting Prairiland Patriots to 33 in the Tigers league triumph on Tuesday.

The Tigers now possess a 9-6 record. They play next when they travel to Chisum for a 3A Region II District 12 game on Friday, December 20. Mount Vernon will play a Mustangs team coming off a 64-21 league loss to Commerce (Commerce, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 6-12.

With the loss, Prairiland falls to 9-9 on the campaign. The Patriots host Chisum (Paris, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 3A Region II District 12 game on Friday, January 3. The Mustangs go into the game with a record of 6-13.
