The Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres basketball team scored 61 points and limited the visiting Willmar Cardinals to 51 in the Sabres non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Sabres now possess a 5-1 record. They play next when they host Bemidji for a AAAA Section 8 game on Thursday, December 19. Sartell-St. Stephen will play a Lumberjacks team coming off a 84-27 non-league win over St. Cloud Cathedral (St. Cloud, MN). The Lumberjacks record now stands at 8-2.

With the loss, Willmar falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Detroit Lakes (Detroit Lakes, MN) to play the Lakers in a AAA Section 8 game on Thursday, January 2. The Lakers go into the game with a record of 2-5. Detroit Lakes lost 43-34 in their recent league game against Little Falls (Little Falls, MN)
