In Monday's non-league match, the visiting Newton Tigers basketball team scored a good 58-46 triumph over the Newton County Cougars.
In their next game, the Tigers meet the Kemper County Wildcats (DeKalb, MS) in a non-league match, on Thursday, December 21. Newton will attempt to better on its 8-5 season record.
With the defeat, Newton County falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Cougars host Sebastopol (Sebastopol, MS) to play the Bobcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 19. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a record of 3-7. Sebastopol lost 64-50 in their recent non-league challenge against Scott Central (Forest, MS)
