The Howland Tigers basketball team scored 54 points and restricted the visiting Boardman Spartans to 34 in the Tigers non-league victory on Monday.
The Tigers now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Salem for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 21. Howland will battle a Quakers team coming off a 48-30 non-league loss to West Branch (Beloit, OH). The Quakers record now stands at 0-1.
The Spartans (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against Canfield (Canfield, OH). The Cardinals come into the non-league contest with a 5-0 record. In their last contest, Canfield prevailed over East Palestine (East Palestine, OH), 63-11, in a non-league contest.
