Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA), 48-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gretna upgrades its record to 3-2 on the season. The Hawks travel to Dan River (Ringgold, VA) to clash with the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 3-4. Dan River won 59-56 in their recent non-league bout against Bassett (Bassett, VA)

Next up, the Comets clash with the Person Rockets (Roxboro, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 21. Halifax County will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record.
